Mechanical Inspection, Startup Services, Warranty Services and Field
Service for MBR Plants
There are a number of manufacturers that
utilize our field support services. We provide a comprehensive
support package to them for every MBR (Membrane Bio Reactor) they
provide to private and municipal sewerage authorities within our
territory.
We provide a walk through with the customer, general contractor,
electrical contractor and Manufacturer approximately 2 weeks to 2
months prior to the startup. This helps ensure that all components
have been installed and wired properly and nothing has been
overlooked during the construction of the facility.
MBR systems can be complex. They are
generally made up of a number of large tanks, various
pumps and level switchs controlling the pumps and blowers. There are
usually two types of blowers for the systems. The systems also have
automated valves, mixers and based on levels and flows various
components interact with each other. There can be a SCADA system or
the main system can be integrated into an existing SCADA system. The
main system also has various HMIs and digital totalizers. The
systems range in size and scope from ~$1 million to over $15
million.
During startup up we spend from one to four weeks calibrating,
configuring, wiring and checking every component, HMI, PLC,
transmitter, meter, totalizer, level switch setting, etc. We follow
the factory recommended setup procedures for every device on the
system. We also document everything we do for our followup report.
We also usually have to configure an automated dialer to dial out to
an operator if an alarm condition exists in off hours.
While on site we also perform system training for the operators with
a recommended maintenance schedule where necessary.
After the startup our followup documentation package includes
electrical and mechanical drawings of any changes, copies of any PLC
program changes that were made, photographs of the system once
complete, photographs of any issues or problematic components and a
comprehensive daily log. We also include a list of any punch list
items or open items that need further action, by others or by us.
During the warranty period if the Manufacturer requires a representative
on site to perform any troubleshooting we typically represent them.
We perform any repairs or swap out components as necessary.
